The festivities continue

And I continue to shriek every time I find one, even when I’m checking a trap and should expect to find a dead mouse. Normally I’m a pretty tough chick, but uninvited mammals in my house is where I draw the line. It remains to be seen whether Whacking Week has been a success. I mean, in the sense that between girls with tupperware, traps, and cats, we have sent quite a few mice to “a better place”, but on the other hand, the supply of new mice may not have changed. We got four yesterday, and based on cat behavior, there’s at least one still loose in the house. If we don’t run out of mice to whack by the end of the week, our strategy will need to be reassessed. For now, plans are being made for a grand finale on Saturday, which will consist of filling all the holes with some form of foamy substance for a more permanent closure and the installation of a device that allegedly makes a sound that drives mice and spiders crazy but doesn’t bother cats and dogs.
