More holidays please

It seems that I've grown accustom to wearing my PJs all day, frequent naps, and drinking in the afternoon. Who would have seen that coming?

This afternoon when I stopped being productive and started contemplating either napping or drinking (or of course, both), my web surfing brought me to an intriguing recipe for roasted chick peas. I'm off to the grocery store for ingredients. If it works out, I'll have a new, homemade, high protein, low fat, $0.15/serving snack, which clearly sounds too good to be true. I'll let you know how it goes.

But first, the knitting. The only thing that didn't get finished before I saw the recipient was my mom's scarf. I wrapped it up anyway, then promptly took it back, so the new list looks like this:

In progress:
-Mom's scarf. At the moment it measures about 11 inches. It needs to be at least 60.
-A hat for J. While we were in Philly, I forced him into a yarn shop to pick out a skein because I just can't let him walk around in a manufactured hat anymore. I'm ready to start the decrease, but skeptical of the fit. It will either be finished, or ripped back and started over in the next couple of days.
-A sock for me. One of the brothers gave me some seriously dreamy needles, and the other gave me some super-squishy sock yarn for Christmas. It was inevitable.
-Socks for Moose. I started these after the first natural dying experiments yielded fucia and walnut colored yarn. I don't know a lot of people who properly appreciate that color of pink, so clearly the yarn wanted to be for her. I've started and ripped and restarted this project several times because they were too big, then they were too small, and then they were just right, but I decided that I liked the pattern not at all. I finally settled on a new pattern with delicate little cables. I've finished the first sock, but got distracted. With any luck, I'll finish in time for her birthday.

To be started soon:
-Felted slippers for youngest brother. About the time I finished dying the custom camo yarn for the brothers' Christmas balaclavas and actually cast on, one of them started loudly admiring my dad's felted slippers from last Christmas. Conveniently his birthday is only about a month away.
-A new hat for me. I've been thinking about this for a while. I had several ideas about some leftover baby alpaca from the stash, but there was some nice red and purple wool that came along with the super-squishy sock yarn from above, so we'll see what happens.

I would like your chickpeas recipe if they are fantastic. Although I am not the biggest chickpeas fan, so it'd have to be pretty terrific.
