1) The sock now measures 5 inches. Only 1.25 inches more to the heel flap (the half way point for those keeping score). I'm still completely in love with the way the colors are falling. It looks like I'm doing some really intense stranded color-work, but really I'm just knitting along.
2) The new phone came, I figured out how to activate it online instead of talking to customer service for hours, and I even managed to get it to zap my numbers from my old phone to the new one. Amazing.
3) The oil change actually was magic. The lawn mower is now back in working, non-smoking order.
4) I have not started any new socks since the last post, but I definitely thought about it. Instead, I finally made a decision on the yarn and color for the sweater I've been promising to knit for J, and I ordered the yarn. It happened to be on sale. I took that as a sign. The acres of plain mindless knitting will be good for knitting when there are people around to distract me. While I still love the sock pattern, it does require most of my attention. Also, it'll mean learning several new techniques. First, raglan sleeves, which are not entirely dissimilar to the gusset on a sock, but still new. Then a zipper. I'm pretty intimidated by the whole zipper thing, so we'll see how that goes.
