In search of a little clarity

No seriously. How is it possible for water filtered through a 1 micrometer filter to be that murky? A micrometer is one one-thousandth of a millimeter. Even Choptank water should come out of that clear. I get that it's not going to be colorless... tannins and other dissolved organics aren't going anywhere. And honestly, I don't want them to. They allow for some contrast with the white jellyfish, so that I can see them easier. But murky? I can't deal with murky. They have until Monday to clear up. If that doesn't happen, we have a problem.
