In the last ten years, 40 drive in theaters have either opened or reopened after closing for lack of interest/profit. Having been to a drive in only once (a double feature, The Mighty Ducks and Lion King, in West Virginia during a rather spectacular meteor shower), I can't claim a lot of experience in the matter. However, how else can you go to a movie and enjoy the outdoors or maintain respectable personal space or talk through the whole thing without offending anyone? I'm glad to see them coming back.

so the first date i went on down here was to a drive in. we saw collateral with tom cruise and jamie foxx. it was fun...we got a 12 pack and lawn chairs and sat outside the car with the radio turned up loud enough for us to hear. i actually talked to that guy a week or so ago and we are gonna plan another trip. i love drive ins...
