Regarding my current computer situation:
- On the front of it, there is a sticker that says "This machine is Y2K compliant!" with a little bug crossed out in red and looking all sad.
- Everyone in the whole damn building can hear when I'm typing. The keyboard is called a "quiet key".
- I think it's funny when people name their computers (Amanda, remember Bob and Ron?)...right now I'm think of calling this one the Abominable Snowman for its size, its tendancy to freeze up, and the fact that it is likely the only one of its kind left. However, I'd love to hear some other suggestions. Best suggestion wins the naming rights.
On the subject of jellyfish research:
- I have a lab full of buckets, and not one with a handle.
- From my perch at the end of the dock, I can watch the osprey feed their babies.
- If the jellyfish don't come out soon, I'm going to die by library.
And everything else:
- I was planning to give up coke as soon as I run out, but luckily for those around me, Ian McGibbony has inspired me no to be a quitter (see Dorian's blog for details).
- There was more, but I forgot it while talking to Amanda.

I think you should name your computer methuselah. I assume you're talking about the one with the gargantuan monitor?
I too was going to give up coke, but ULL is a coke-campus and after 4.5 years on a coke-free campus I figure I deserve a little coke.
For the record, you IM'd me, so any loss of post material is not my fault.
D- that's a good one. When new people walk in and say "damn Maggie, that's a loud (or old or ugly, etc.)computer," I can reply, "your mom's loud (old, ugly, etc.)!"
